Worcestershire sauce, the mysterious, umami-filled (and hard to pronounce) condiment can mostly be found in Caesar-dressings, bloody mary’s, and various sauces.
Its versatility in its ability to add a punch of savory flavor is why it’s so useful.
Gluten Free Worcestershire is here!
Unfortunately, the conventional version is completely non-paleo. It’s made with gluten and usually has preservatives.
We decided to make a Paleo version of Worcestershire sauce for a Caesar salad recipe, but feel free to use it in other ways (Ahem… paleo Bloody Mary anyone?)!
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/8 cup molasses
- 1/8 cup coconut aminos
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp paleo fish sauce
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp ground clove
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- Juice from 1/2 lime
- In a small saucepan, mix ingredients together and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and pour into a blender. Blend until smooth. Refrigerate.
