The Whole 30 program is a registered trademark program, that follows a basic paleo template with certain specific additional restrictions to be used as a short term detox or for specific results. The authors and owners of this program have chosen to have specific affiliations with exclusive “preferred partners” that offer their business a financial relationship. There is no harm in this, it’s a business, and that’s an acceptable business practice.
That being said, Paleo on the Go can be a great addition to these programs if you want the convenience of pre-made meals. We cannot and will not use their trademark affiliation inappropriately, but you can easily use the program guidelines to know which entrees, sides and snacks are applicable to the program you are using. We clearly label all of our ingredients to make decision making as simple as possible for you.
WHAT is a WHOLE 30 anyway?
Whole 30 is the 30 day program that coordinates with the book “It Starts with Food” by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. The program outline can be found for free on their website
The basics of the program are essentially the foundation of the Paleo Diet with a few exceptions. The whole 30 eliminates all grains, legumes, dairy and artificial sweeteners in keeping with the basic paleo principles.
If you are using the whole 30 program, please note that Paleo on the Go uses the most strict paleo template for all of our menu options. In relationship to this program, we do not use white potatoes in any of products. You can always add white potatoes as a side to any of our dishes if you opt to include them. On the other side, from a restriction perspective, we already use no grains, no dairy, no legumes, no carageenan, MSG, Sulfites and no refined sugar. AND we don’t sell alcohol! We use only ghee in a few of our items which is Whole30 safe. We do use honey or maple syrup in a very select few items. Beyond those handful of items, the vast majority of our menu is whole 30 safe. In addition, we also offer Whole30 approved bacon through Pederson’s Natural Farms.
In addition, Whole 30 eliminates the following:
No sugar – of any kind
Do not consume alcohol – of any kind
Do not eat grains – of any kind
Do not eat legumes – of any kind
Do not eat dairy – of any kind
No additives, preservatives, carrageenan, MSG or sulfites.
No reinventing the wheel by making paleo-ish baked goods
No weighing in, no measuring, no calorie counting.
We’ve created a category of foods that meet this criteria called “Strict 30” to make this as easy as possible for you, any items that fall outside the whole30 parameters (primarily treats, and those that may contain natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup) have already been removed for your convenience.
